Both SOPA and PIPA would have given the government power to shut down websites that allegedly violated copyright; CISPA would be able to give the government power to monitor the on-line activity of civilians (in other words, an internet version of the PATRIOT ACT). And yet this receives less attention than either SOPA or PIPA? WTF?!
I know. The resistance on this one seems to have a hard time getting traction. Maybe we should collectively do more work on it to get it as hot as SOPA. The damn thing is already out of committee in the House, so, theoretically, the whole House could vote on it at any time.
