Both SOPA and PIPA would have given the government power to shut down websites that allegedly violated copyright; CISPA would be able to give the government power to monitor the on-line activity of civilians (in other words, an internet version of the PATRIOT ACT). And yet this receives less attention than either SOPA or PIPA? WTF?!

although it may seem hopeless we have to emember that the ACTA did pass however it was thanks to petitions and a global outcry that the ACTA was reapealed.
