See this entry in my Journal for starters [link] which describes my artistic philosophy and practice, and then go here [link] which is only one of my sources. I find a likely candidate, download it, and then paint out the stuff I don't want using none other than Fotoflexer (www.fotoflexer.com). Then, I download the edited piece, adjust the color, tone, contrast, white and black levels, etc. Then, I drop the edited piece into PowerPoint (yeah, I know, but it is the only page compositor I have) and add the new typography. Then I do a screen cap of the finished piece and save that as a PNG file, which is what I upload to DA. That's it. Effective, cheap, easy, and fast, fast, fast. That way I can respond to changing issues quickly. It all starts with one's motive -- mine is more to make effective propaganda and get it out there fast than it is to do really artistically perfect stuff. Now you know how to do it, so I expect to see some cool original stuff of your own on here soon. Send me a note so that I don't miss your debut. All power to the poaster makers!

(I call them "poasters" to identify them with my process. Sometimes, when the originals are complex and need more skillful airbrushing then I am capable of, I get help from deviant Nibiana who charges me a reasonable price and who has excellent skills.

Well mostly, I'm just gonna be doing propaganda pieces on my fanfics I write. So it's hardly going to be a political issue unless I just happen to find an issue that pisses me off :P
