On a serious note, this poaster is trying to make a political point: there are job actions short of strikes that can be effective, including sick-outs and the tactics this poaster is advocating, the slow-down. When you're fighting a larger, more powerful opponent, you've got to adapt, improvise, and use hit and run tactics rather than head to head confrontations until you're well-organized and strong enough to do so. A word to the wise. . .

Well, the reaction to this piece has so far been overwhelming. Thanks to everyone who have viewed or favorited this poaster.

Here's some background. The original art may be found here: [link]. When I first saw this piece, the thing that popped into my head was something an older Russian chap said to me in April 2005 when I visited Moscow. Sitting in a cafe near the Metropol Hotel, I asked him what it was like in terms of day to day life under the old Soviet system. He smiled and replied, "Well, it was like this: the government pretended to pay us, and we pretended to work." His line seemed just perfect for this art. I guess a whole bunch of my fellow deviants agree.

Actually, my comrade's joke reminds me of another line, this one mine. Sitting at dinner in Shezhen, China, my host asked me, "what would you say the major difference is between China and the United States?" Into my head and out of my mouth popped: "Well, China has better food, but America has better toilets." ;)

"....the government pretended to pay us, and we pretended to work."
I find that quite accurate, to my understanding haha. I think I might just keep this quote!

I wasn't paid at all at one of my jobs, but I needed the experience...

However, it made my current workplace get away with paying me the lowest salary in the whole department.

...you just can't win, in all honesty.

I remember this one-liner from a comic strip years ago, "Frank and Ernest: "Minimum wage? Perfect! We only do minimum work!" :w00t:

Seriously, it beggars belief what a typical employer expects in exchange for peanuts. :puke:

Some employers get away paying poverty wage.
If minimum is peanuts then poverty is salt.

You know, I've seen a business going on more than a year and a half without paying their employees, and they kept working out of desperation, sense of duty and hope of getting paid again someday.
Then the business closed and the owner laughed at them.
So I agree a lot with this.
