I believe you and I see well and fully the same truth, insofar as the truth of these words is concerned.

Here's a [link] to a rather lengthy expose' on the subject, along with a video link that may just make you cry.

I would love some feedback. Thanks. :salute:

A man from a time when America was a better place.

I think so. I think he was a humble man who got elevated to a high position because of his spiritual power. That's just my deviant take on it.

He died. It is said that his deep melancholia worsened after his son Todd died. His wife Mary went insane from the grief, and he struggled with that too.

Well, he led the revolutionary army, but he wasn't the only one. Lincoln was born later of course.

I like the quote, but I'd play with the placement of the text and the background a little more. Everything seems a bit wide and a little dark.

Actually, it works better if I bump the contrast which darkens the background and makes Lincoln stand out a little more.

I disagree with you about the type. The visual is horizontal, and the line breaks I have used are natural to the flow of the thoughts (elements) of the text. But thanks for the comment. This is exactly the kind of feedback I am looking for.

Oh the text as a whole is fine, it's just lying on the picture oddly. Or the face is not quite center (nor far enough away from center) and it's throwing the eye.

Something seems off and I'm trying to figure it out myself.

Where is your intended focal point? What is your secondary point?

Well, the statue is shot from the left side at, so the view isn't straight-one to begin with. Anyway, I recropped and centered the photo by interpolating a couple of measurements, and then centered the type. The tighter crop, and more playing with the lighting also helps, I think.

Thanks for your comments.
