I love that the NSA wouldn't answer the "How many people are you wire tapping" question, because that, would infringe on our privacy...

What the hell!?

He also warned of a young country deposing one king to instill another. This in my opinion did not take fruition until FDR grabbed the power that he could. Without him we would not have the nanny state we have today, as well as the welfare state of mind. Welfare is not a safety net anymore as much as it is a mind control device to make the public think that they need the government. The government in its "limitless wisdom", also fearing its own loss of power, devised up ways to spy on its populace. This is the highest form of treason. This coming from a uniformed serviceman. I love my country and would proudly serve again if the need arises. But, that being said, much work is to be done to restore her to her prior glory.

old Benjamin Franklin would frown on America today. was it not him that said something like "If one should give up freedom for security, then that one deserves neither."

"A [country] that sacrifices a little freedom for a little security deserves neither and will lose both."

(I think country was the word he used.)
