Atmospheric CO₂ levels stood at 280 parts per million (ppm) prior to the Industrial Revolution. Today, they have risen to 400 ppm, this up from 315 ppm just 50 years ago,
a rate of increase of about 2 ppm per year. At 450 ppm, the scientific consensus is that there would be a near certainty of the Greenland icecap melting, causing a rise in sea levels of 7 meters, or about 22 feet. At a rate of increase of 2 ppm per year, 450 ppm is just 25 years away.

The burning of coal to make electricity in the United States contributes one-third of all CO₂ emissions. New rules issued by the EPA make it virtually impossible for the electric companies to build any new coal-fired plants. Now, we must move quickly to shut down and replace the existing ones, and to help the Chinese do the same any way we can.

What's at stake? Take a look here to see what the east coast of the United States would look like after a 7 meter rise in sea levels: [link]

Well well... I read alot about this topic and it scares me how careless it still goes on with the usage of our recources. Anyway Im studying chemestry and at the beginning I thought lots of students in my course would share the fact, CO2, Methane and other gases (beside lots of other effects like sunradiation) sets up our temperature and the sealevel. But I dont want to start a discussion whats wrong or right couse Im not a climate-scientist... ^^

Anyway... whats scaring me more is that I found pure DENIAL instead of critism! And that in a course with chemists and physics... And sometimes I feel stunned cause  denial can be so overwhelming...

Long story short. Your work is amazing :) I really hope that social and political wrongs will still be discovered and shown to the world so noone can ignore them!

So continue your awesome work! (sorry I hope my english isnt this bad xD)
