Seniors aren't the only people who are being expected to bear the brunt of the austerity plan worked out by the White House and their Congressional co-conspirators. The sequester is resulting in cuts to veterans mental health counseling at a time when veterans' suicides are at an all-time high, and cuts are taking place now to tuition assistance, job placement and transition services, housing assistance, and a whole lot more. [link] But even worse would be the President's proposal to reduce the cost-of-living increases going to veterans who receive disability payments [link]. It's scandalous! Obama proposes to cut $163 billion over 10 years by reducing cost-of-living increases to the old, the disabled, and veterans. Cut the war machine's bloated budget and make the rich pay for their wars through higher taxes instead!
